Androulakis: “Second chance for dignity for weak borrowers”

The president of PASOK-KINAL called on the government and the other parties to vote in favor of the amendment for the protection of the main residence of weak borrowers, which restores the basic framework of the 2010 law and with updated criteria the protection of agricultural land and overall management framework of private debt.

Members and friends of PASOK-KINAL filled the Municipal Theater in Corinth on Saturday night to watch the speech of the party’s president, Nikos Androulakis. The president of PASOK-KINAL called on the government and the other parties to vote in favor of the amendment for the protection of the main residence of weak borrowers, which restores the basic framework of the 2010 law and with updated criteria the protection of agricultural land and overall management framework of private debt.

“It is the minimum due act of responsibility. We have a duty to give those who could not endure, for reasons of objective conditions, a second chance of dignity with transparent and objective criteria” said Mr. Androulakis in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision on the auctions by the funds.

The president of PASOK-Change Movement noted as a priority the creation of a new social alliance that will support the most vulnerable. “We will not leave the middle class meteoric. We will not let the new generation give up their expectations” underlined the president of PASOK-KINAL, referring, among other things, to the party’s proposals for the social housing program, the revival of the National Social Security System, a new EKAS for 350,000 low-pensioners, a progressive and redistributive tax system system in order to secure resources for targeted support of the most vulnerable social groups.

Referring to the general political confrontation, Mr. Androulakis responded to the criticism that PASOK-KINAL keeps equal distances between New Democracy and SYRIZA. “We don’t do politics with a measuring tape. Our decisions are valuable. I don’t care if Mr. Mitsotakis is bothered on the one hand and Mr. Tsipras on the other. We are voting for the country’s defense armor in a critical geopolitical period and Mr. Tsipras claims that we have found it with New Democracy. I am doing my duty to Democracy, to the younger generations, to the Greece of Europe and transparency by making the issue of wiretapping and the violation of human rights a top issue in the European Union and we hear Mr. Mitsotakis claim that “they probably want to be social-burnt”. We are on the opposite side of the one where New Democracy and SYRIZA are located”, underlined Nikos Androulakis, defining the dilemma of the elections: “Either with those who are ready to sacrifice everything for the dawn of a better day for the Greek people or with those who are ready to do anything for a seat of power.”

He strongly criticized SYRIZA and its opposition line on the occasion of Alexis Tsipras’ decision not to take part in the Parliament votes. “By removing his party from the Parliament, Mr. Tsipras proves not just to be a sponsor of New Democracy, but a great benefactor of Kyriakos Mitsotakis”, pointed out the president of PASOK – Movement for Change.

Regarding the amendment-block to the participation of parties with those convicted of criminal organizations, the president of PASOK-Movement of Change stated that: “The faction that brought national reconciliation, never “played” with extremes. To see who are the real exponents of today’s Center Left? Who are they; Is it the New Democracy, whose current MPs were talking about the “serious Golden Dawn” or is it SYRIZA who said that “no vote is a shame” and used the votes of the Golden Dawn in some bills?”

Turning against Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he sharply commented on the movements of former PASOK-KINAL executives and their participation in the ND ballots.

“Never before has a prime minister shown such indecency by turning the Maximos Palace into a photo studio” commented Mr. Androulakis. “You know in politics we are all judged either by doing what we say or by serving a new political ethos. Mr. Mitsotakis is probably serving his family tradition of eavesdropping and defections. Far from us are these traditions, because this faction with its struggles has put a stop to this “culture”” added Mr. Androulakis, stressing that PASOK’s ballots are drawn up by the party’s institutions and no one else.
