Cavusoglu: In such difficult days, good neighbors show up – We don’t need earthquakes to improve our relations

I have an order from the prime minister that Greece will do everything it can to support Turkey either bilaterally or in the context of its participation in the EU, said Nikos Dendias.

“It is very important to help each other, but we should not wait for another earthquake to improve our relations” I had written in a letter earlier, I am saying it now as Turkey’s foreign minister, said the Turkish foreign minister, Mevlüt Tsavousoglou in his joint statements with Nikos Dendias from Antioch.

“I hope we will make efforts to resolve our differences through dialogue,” he added.

“I want to thank Nikos Dendias and the Greek people and express my gratitude for the support and solidarity they showed during these difficult days,” Mr. Tsavousoglou continued.

On the other hand, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias said: “I would like to convey to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and to the Turkish government the deepest condolences of the Mitsotakis government and the Greek people. I would also like to thank Mevlut Cavusoglu for his very kind words about the efforts of the Greek rescuers and his warm reference to our presence here.

We are particularly happy for the human lives saved by the Greek rescuers and for the many lives saved by the European rescuers, because we had the opportunity to visit Austrian and Dutch rescuers. 205 lives were saved by them including the Greeks. Greece’s effort to help Turkey does not stop here.

I have a mandate from Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis that Greece will do everything it can to support Turkey either bilaterally or in the context of its EU membership. I totally agree with what Mevlut said we don’t need to wait for natural disasters to improve relations us”.
