The president of the Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, paid a visit to the University Hospital of Heraklion, in order to be informed, by the commander of the hospital and doctors, about the situation that prevails with the pandemic. Mr. Androulakis again referred to the need for vaccination, saying that today a campaign for informing the citizens was launched.
“In a few days we will have more cases than we had in 2020 in total. The government, while knowing what was happening with the Omicron mutation in Western Europe, did not quickly take strict health protection measures,” said Mr. Androulakis, who added that in Movement for Change remain steadfast in the triptych that includes support for the vaccination program, support for the National Public Health System and staffing of hospitals, as soon as possible, with doctors and other specialties.
“We have already started our vaccination campaign. We break the fear, we break the misinformation, we are vaccinated because it is a message of life for us and our fellow human beings “, said Mr. Androulakis.
“We support the NSS by giving incentives for young nurses and for critical specialties that we need, in order to particularly support the Intensive Care Units and we ask the government to speed up the procedures, so that where there are approved credits for nurses and doctors, to come faster. public health system “, underlined the president of the Movement for Change.
Regarding the measures, Nikos Androulakis said that both the government and the opposition parties “must understand that these moments are very critical”, adding that “above all is human life, above all “Everything is the support of the public health system, these must be a priority and in no case the political cost”.
Mr. Androulakis had the opportunity to visit the vaccination center that operates inside the hospital and to wish for the holidays to citizens he met, while thanking the commander of the Hospital George Chalkiadakis, for the information.
Mr. Chalkiadakis, in turn, thanked the president of the Movement for Change for his interest, saying that at the moment in PAGNI, in terms of hospitalizations and patients in the ICU, the situation is under control.
