The Prime Minister visited the “Mamatsio” General Hospital of Kozani and the construction site of the new wing of the hospital on Monday Kyriakos Mitsotakis and informed about the progress of the work.

“I am particularly happy that today, although the work has already started, we are actually founding a very important project for the city of Kozani, we are essentially doubling the hospital in terms of its capacity, adding a state-of-the-art wing, which will be connected to the older buildings »said the prime minister.

“For me personally, health will be a very big bet of our second four-year term, as long as the Greek people trust us, it is very high on the government’s priority. We have both the plan and the financing possibility, but above all we have the people, our doctors, our nurses, who serve in the National Health System, our new students, who will come tomorrow to staff the National Health System. And indeed, this new NHS that we are planning and implementing will be a very big challenge, but also a very big opportunity for the country as a whole”Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out.

According to the data reported, the new wing of the Kozani General Hospital, about 5,500 square meters, it will house the surgery and pathology clinic, with a capacity of 54 and 44 beds respectively, together with auxiliary spaces.

With the completion of the construction of the new wing and the renovation of the old one, within the next five years Kozani is expected to have a new hospital with an area of approximately 21,700 square meters, upgrading the services provided to the citizens of the wider area on many levels.

The Prime Minister was welcomed at the venue by the Deputy Minister of Health Mina Gaga, the Governor of Western Macedonia Giorgos Kasapidis and the Governor of the Hospital, Dimitris Siolios.
