“The public opinion in Turkey that saw Greece as an adversary, now sees a Greece that stands by, that helps and understands the concept of good neighborliness”
The ND MP was a guest on SKAI’s “Today” show Dora Bakoyannis and the SYRIZA MP Kostas Zachariadis who referred to what is happening after the earthquake in Turkey but also about the case of auctions in Greece.
Regarding the earthquake in Turkey, Mrs. Bakoyannis emphasized that “what happened is something unprecedented for us. It’s a breath of fresh air from our backyard.”
And he added regarding the help from Greece and its treatment by the Turkish people: “The public opinion in Turkey has changed after what happened. Public opinion that saw Greece as an adversary now sees a Greece that stands by, that helps and understands the concept of good neighborliness.
ErdoÄŸan’s narrative about Greece has now collapsed.
Greece will continue in this climate and will take initiatives internationally, it already took in the EU. This means that Erdogan, or any political leadership, will realize that the myth of the strong country that does not need anyone has collapsed because it does not exist no country in the world that is so powerful that it does not need help.
Will we solve our problems? No to God. Turkey’s political line will remain. But it opens a window of hopefully meaningful dialogue.”
From the side of Kostas Zachariadis referring to the earthquake in Turkey and aid from Greece:
“It is shocking what is happening in Turkey and in Syria which remains blocked without help.
They also destroyed a series of myths that Etogan had been building for ten years:
First, friends go day. And so did the Greek mission and helped.
Secondly, this whole fairy tale of the very powerful leader ErdoÄŸan who transformed the country and made it a great power”.
At the same time, Mr. Zachariadis emphasized that “we should also look at our infrastructure, in public buildings, schools, etc. The image of the two Foreign Ministers embracing each other fills us with joy, but this does not mean that we give up our sovereign rights ».
For auctions
Regarding the auctions, Mr. Zachariadis emphasized that “accuracy has put pressure on household finances. There should be a freeze on auctions until the elections. The dilemma is “Yes or no to the bankruptcy of natural persons”.
Mrs. Bakoyannis disagreed with his opinion, commenting: “The issue of auctions has occupied Greece for ten years. With inflation being an international problem, what is the government doing? Where we have the vulnerable he gives a helping hand to be able to cover his loan. There cannot and should not be a freeze because all the Europeans who have given the loan to the banks to give it to the world will rise up. The first residence is different, the defaulter is different.”
