The president of SYRIZA – PS, Alexis Tsipras, who is visiting Cyprus, had a meeting with the newly elected President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis.

During the short conversation the two men had in front of the cameras, Mr. Tsipras wished Mr. Christodoulidis from the bottom of his heart every success in the difficulties he has to face and the great challenges ahead. For his part, Mr. Christodoulidis emphasized the need to respond to citizens’ expectations and to the major challenges concerning both national issues and the economy and society.

Earlier, Mr. Tsipras had attended and delivered a speech at the memorial event for Vasos Lyssaridis, while he had a series of consecutive meetings with the candidate in the last elections for the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus and diplomat, Andreas Mavroyiannis, with the president of EDEK, Marino Sizopoulos , and the general secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou. Later he will attend a dinner organized by the mayor of Lefkara Sofokles Sofokleous.
