He reacted strongly Nikos Pappas in the decision of the Special Court on the television license case. The former SYRIZA minister was sentenced to two years in prison with a three-year suspension, while Christos Kalogritsa a fine of 5,000 euros was imposed. In his post on social media, Nikos Pappas mentions, among other things, how “the decision of the special court is in the spirit of the decisions in the NOVARTIS and SIEMENS cases”.

“It seems that for some judges, whoever damages the public is innocent and whoever secures money for the public through his actions is guilty. For some it didn’t matter either the acquittal of Kretsou in the same case, nor the prosecutor’s proposal that dissolved the indictment”he adds.

Mr. Pappas states that it is absolutely clear that “this trial was political” and was done to “hide Mitsotakis’ looting of public money, the “blue bugs” and the “blue locusts. This trial happened because our rich fellow citizens paid voted taxes and were forced to obey the constitution. This trial was done to hit our faction and to prevent the rich from paying again.”

“But some judges will not decide on this. The Greek people will decide. Who by his command will bring justice everywhere. We have done our duty and will continue to serve the public interest” concludes his statement.
