The tragedy of Tempe, which has plunged the country into mourning, leads to the postponement of the elections.

After the fatal accident, it is very difficult to adhere to the timetable that was known until Wednesday for the elections, i.e. April 9th. The fact that the prime minister had not spoken about a date, even though April 9 was a common secret, makes it possible for the elections to go further back.

It is understood that under the weight of national mourning it is now difficult to hold an election, and therefore a transfer is likely them for two weeks.

However, Mr. Mitsotakis has not spoken about the issue, while Maximos reported that now all the weight falls on the support of the victims’ relatives and the treatment of the injured, and not on the scenarios for elections. “We will see it in the next few days,” they said.

It is noted that Friday’s cabinet meeting has been postponed until further notice, and no date has been set for a new meeting.

The formation of an independent and supra-party committee of experts which will investigate the causes of the deadly accident in Tempi, Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced earlier in his message to the Greek people.

At the same time, he announced that the Minister of State Giorgos Gerapetritis is taking over as the interim Minister of Transport after the resignation of Mr. Karamanlis, while at the same time he made it known that the heads of OSE and ERGOSE also submitted their resignations.
