Crime decreased by 30% in Attica and throughout the country in the last four months of 2021 compared to 2018 and 2019, according to the Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos.

Speaking on SKAI TV and the show “Unmatched”, the minister explained that the comparison is made with the years 2018-2019 because in 2020 due to quarantine, crime was also affected.

“Serious steps are being taken. This does not mean that there are no problems “, stressed Mr. Theodorikakos and added that the police throw the weight in specific areas and neighborhoods in the basin where the biggest problem of crime is located.

He described as the “biggest anomaly in decades” the fact that while 70% of crime is located in Attica, only 30% of the EL.AS force is located in the Basin. because, among other things, “there is the immutability of the Greek police”.

There is no ban on rallies in Greece

He explained that there is no ban on rallies in the country and this should be understood and respected.

As he said, no one can forbid people to be found in the open or in a house, but what is forbidden is to carry out mass and for-profit activities.

“You can not move the nightclub to your home, rent machines and DJs for mass and for-profit activities,” he noted.
