The government of the New Democracy makes a ball of responsibility and throws it to the previous ones, said Popi Tsapanidou, speaking about the train disaster in Tempi on the Today show of SKAI with Dimitris Oikonomou and Akis Pavlopoulos.

At the same time, the press representative of SYRIZA, referring to the polls and the elections, emphasized that SYRIZA believes that it will be the first force, while she noted that the promises made by Mr. Mitsotakis in 2019 when he won the elections proved to be hollow.

In detail about the accident in Tempe, he emphasized:

“Clearly from the announcement of the OSE it is clarified that since the fire that broke out in 2019 in the Zaharis area in Larissa, everything was burnt and nothing was left, nothing from the remote control was working.

We await the preliminary investigation to see what happened and hope that another cover-up is not attempted.

We have a number of testimonies and facts that show that there was no remote control in Larissa. The announcement of the OSE on March 6, 2023 states that since the fire in the Zaharis area in Larissa, the remote control was completely out of order.

So we are surprised by what this OSE document says and what Mr. Gerapetritis presented yesterday says that remote control was fully operational in Larissa.

And one wonders why this document is coming out today, and add to it all the testimonies and affidavits of all the employees of the OSE who say that there was no remote control.”

Regarding the 717 contract, Mrs. Tsapanidou emphasized:

“First, the work delivered is not measured by the delivery of stations, etc. Secondly, what happened during SYRIZA and was announced by Mr. Tsipras is that we received from the government of Mr. Samaras a contract which was extremely confused.

The result is that certified, with official documents, was delivered with the change of government in ND in 2019 a project that had been completed in a percentage of more than 68%, namely 72.4% and a contract which was clear, without any legal gluing in order to be able to do the additional one that was needed to complete it. ND did not do this for some reason.

And let’s assume that things are as ND says they are, he comes after the accident and says one by one the things that theoretically had not happened because someone else is always to blame for ND.

So since they had a map so properly made with omissions and delays that they themselves claim to have existed, isn’t that an admission of defeat?

Why didn’t they go fix them? They had four whole years to do it. They take the responsibility with a ball and throw it to the previous ones”.

SYRIZA is the first force

Speaking about the opinion polls that show ND losing a percentage but SYRIZA not gaining from it, Ms. Tsapanidou emphasized:

“Mr. Tsipras talked about a first but he did not say that it will be an easy walk, but a tough match.

Each individual citizen experiences his own mourning and his own difficulty. When something this intense happens it has the power to pull us back to our own losses. It has plunged us all into a depression and feeling insecure.

The people’s dissatisfaction with the government is expressed in the opinion polls.

The government has retreated, but SYRIZA has not retreated, but this is not the time to discuss who wins and what they win.

Mr. Tsipras answered. It will be a difficult road until the elections, it is not an easy walk. It is a difficult electoral contest, but SYRIZA believes that it will be the first force after the ballot box.

But, personally, I believe that now is not the time to have such talks in front of a world that found out in practice in the worst way that all that Mr. Mitsotakis promised to win the elections in 2019, that is, that he can manage the daily life of the citizen better with this staff state that would bring another form to management, all this was revealed to be an empty promise.

There will soon be a program for citizen security from SYRIZA which I think will cover the world too much so that we don’t feel that we live by luck in this country”.
