“The government does not seem to have realized the magnitude of the responsibility it bears for the tragic accident in Tempe. It is not possible that for four years he has not done anything to prevent us from reaching the tragic accident. We are not talking about an event caused by external factors, but a head-on collision. And he still refuses to take responsibility.” That’s what he said the press representative of SYRIZA-PS, Popi Tsapanidouin an interview with Mega and accusing the ND of “bribery” noted that all seven members of the ERGOSE Board of Directors are officials of the ruling party.

“We live in a state that for 40-50 years was built by the ND faction and these policies that Kyriakos Mitsotakis is now adopting and mocking us that he will tear down, as he said in his recent interview”, he emphasized and added: “Alexis Tsipras , on the other hand, he comes out and says openly how he will manage this country, he has a plan and he will present it in detail in the next period of time”.

The SYRIZA press representative pointed out that those who saw the Mitsotakis interview with Stavros Theodorakis would feel very bad: “From the very first question we saw him laughingly answering the concerns of young people and society as a whole about their safety. You can’t ask kids who were on the fatal train to turn around. You can only ask for forgiveness. This interview made me feel ashamed”.

Regarding the possibility of the candidacy of K. Ah. Karamanlis, said that “in our eyes he should not be a candidate because he knew.” “He cannot say that the trains are safe and accuse the opposition of being ashamed to raise such issues. Really, what will he say to those who listened to him, believed him and put their children on the trains?”

Asked about his candidacy Pavlos PolakisMrs. Tsapanidou replied that it was decided in the collective bodies of the party, since he himself recognized his mistakes, while for Nikos Pappa he said that the decision against him is a misdemeanor and his mistake is that he regulated the television environment and brought money to the public coffers, when others are taking it.

He then underlined: “The son of the prosecutor of the Supreme Court -who is looking into the case of Tempi and who will investigate the responsibilities of Mr. Karamanlis- was transferred to the office of the former minister. But the first thing Kyriakos Mitsotakis did when he was elected was to take EYP under his control and change the legislation to put Mr. Kontoleon in charge, that is, his own man.”

In a question about the post-election partnerships Mrs. Tsapanidou said: “The main question is when will the elections be held? We heard through a TV show that they will be held in May. This is the first time this has happened. Until then, we are trying to convince the people to give priority to SYRIZA-PS and Nikos Androulakis is doing the same, from the same pool of progressive citizens. When the elections are held – and we believe that Alexis Tsipras will get a very strong mandate – that’s when the meaningful conversation about partnerships. Because the people will have spoken. We, of course, could cooperate with PASOK on a programmatic basis, in order to leave behind us this Greece that hurts us all”.
