“May 21 is the day that can signal a big change that the country needs,” stressed the Alexis Tsipras at the Starforum conference in Lamia, in a discussion with the managing director of STAR Central Greece, George Simopoulos.

He underlined that “the country needs a great political change at all levels”, “I think that justice and change are the two slogans and visions that can inspire the great majority of what we call the democratic faction throughout time”.

Its president SYRIZA PS noted that his party is here to present its programmatic positions, “we are here to unite the Greeks and not to divide them”. He emphasized that “we are not talking about the autonomy of arrogant governments”, “we want progressive governments of cooperation”. He added that the challenges facing the country are many and great, that “no one can solve the problems alone with arrogance and authoritarianism”. He expressed the hope that the period leading up to the elections would be a meaningful dialogue and that Mr. Mitsotakis “will leave the crowns and come to discuss. In ’19 he refused the televised dialogue, he was afraid of it”, while he commented that the prime minister prefers to deal with communication and not the substance. “I want us to talk about the big problems and how we will overcome them so that we can be compared and the people can judge.”

Mr. Tsipras argued that “the country needs a government that will be colorful because it will reflect the multi-color of the social majority, it will be colorful not only on the basis of the parties that will make it up, but also on the basis of the trends and attitudes that society has us. We want a government that will be collaborative and above all based on a programmatic progressive framework to make cuts that need to be made in the state. A state that will be meritorious, next to the citizen, will provide security, we need support from society and the mitigation of inequalities, support for the new generation and the productive forces,” he said. Well, he noted, it should be a government that will represent such forces, to emphasize that “all this can be done with the verdict and support of the people”. The president of SYRIZA said that the answer to the question “with whom will we govern” is: “We will govern with the Greek people, with their support and with their will”.

Speaking about the surveillance case, Mr. Tsipras commented that he wonders “how after all this” Mr. Mitsotakis he asks the people to vote for him to become self-sufficient again. “Imagine the possibility of Mr. Mitsotakis becoming independent again, what else will he do, when he destroyed the Constitution in this extreme way”, he commented.
