“Communicative Games” Nikos Androulakis characterized the reports that say that in a cooperation government, he will choose the prime minister himself.

In the context of his speech tonight in Serres, the president of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, commented on the position, which they are already announcing that they will maintain in the post-election landscape of the first ballot, Mr. Mitsotakis and Tsipras.

“We want to build a relationship of trust with the Greek people, telling them the truth. We say what we will do when we get the order. What will they do? Mr. Mitsotakis declares: “I am not interested in the first elections, vote for me but I will hand over the mandate.” Then why should the Greek people vote for him? Are we marathon runners passing the baton in national elections? First round, second round, third round… until Mr. Mitsotakis is prime minister? If possible! This is complete disregard for the constitution and popular verdict.
What does Mr. Tsipras say? “I discuss cooperation governments, only if I am the first party”. But it won’t be a first party, that’s clear. So I say here from Serres to the Greek people: Once again, they are playing cheap games on your backs. Therefore, the only solution is the strong Democratic Party from the first Sunday for a stable government, progress, perspective and hope for all Greeks” said the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.

On the persons of a co-operative government, Mr. Androulakis noted: “They claim that I will choose the prime minister. It is obvious that this is all a communication game. When there are cooperative governments, the convergences are also in the faces. Especially in the person of the prime minister, who must be a person of general acceptance. So, I will not say “who” to a commonly accepted person. But some even this simple matter, which happens in many states of Europe, here have made it a top issue. Why; Because the well-known media leaders want to convince the people that the dilemma is “Mitsotakis or chaos”. And we answer here, from Serres, that Mr. Mitsotakis is the chaos, it is the social inequalities, it is the depreciation of public wealth, it is the eavesdropping, it is the violation of human rights, it is the attack on the independent authorities”.

Regarding the public debate on the extension of the fence on the Evros, the president of PASOK-Movement for Change emphasized that “obviously for us there are borders at the sea and at the Evros. It is obvious to us that our borders must be guarded and for the Greek people to know that there is security. We are not a country “whoever wants, enters – whoever wants, leaves”. But, on the other hand, this work cannot be an alibi for the entire European right and for Mr. Mitsotakis.
We, the socialists, took the initiative in the European Parliament – before the pandemic – to revise the Dublin Regulation. What does this mean; Whoever enters the European Union, must apply for asylum throughout the EU. So, when someone gets refugee status, Greece will not have to beg and beg for new resettlement programs, but there will be a permanent program with distribution according to population, unemployment and other social criteria in the countries of the European Union. So what do we say? And to have borders, which should be borders with security but also a review of Dublin. Why does Mr. Mitsotakis say only the first part? Because those who prevent the revision of Dublin, fair distribution and solidarity in Europe are his own right-wing political family. Those who slap him on the back for the Evros project, are the same ones who condemn the people of the South to bear the burden of the refugee. Giving, of course, money, but solidarity cannot be bought with money. Solidarity is guaranteed by institutions. This is the Europe of the people and not the Europe of the powerful and of conservation.”

“Mr. Tsipras in this matter did not learn his lesson from 2015, when he managed to put the keys to the refugee-immigrant situation in the hands of Erdogan and blackmail all of Europe. Is this what we want? Do we not understand the difference between humanitarianism and geopolitical blackmail? When Lukashenko has the same strategy in Belarus, it is condemnable, but when Erdogan has it in Turkey, we don’t talk?” he pointed out critically about SYRIZA’s stance on immigration

Referring to the PASOK-Change Movement’s programmatic initiatives, Mr. Androulakis reiterated the need to channel 8-10% of the Recovery Fund’s resources to the National Health System in order to have a pan-Hellenic primary health system.
He committed to create a pool of 150,000 social housing units to be made available at low rent to new couples.
He highlighted the comprehensive package of measures the party has worked out to tackle private debt and protect borrowers’ primary residence.
“Not one acre of agricultural land in foreign interests, this patriotic socialist party will not allow the de-Hellenization of the Greek economy by the ravens of the funds” added Mr. Androulakis.

“If you look at the figures, they show the priorities of Mr. Mitsotakis: 69 businesses got 1.1 billion of the Recovery Fund with a 1.2% interest rate, when thousands of farmers, breeders and small and medium-sized businesses are in dire straits. This money was given for them by the European Union and not for Mr. Mitsotakis and New Democracy’s cronies. That’s why, in the matter of loans, we also ask that there be priorities for small and medium-sized enterprises”, he emphasized regarding the government’s model of utilizing the resources of the Recovery Fund.

“All management positions in organizations and public hospitals will be filled with open international tenders and not by party bribery” noted Mr. Androulakis regarding the necessary changes in the functioning of the state.

Concluding his speech Mr. Androulakis raised the stake of the ballot box.
“The dilemma in the next national elections is not “SYRIZA or New Democracy”. The dilemma in the next national elections is: Either a looted state in the hands of Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis or a state that guarantees the public interest, so as to give real hope and perspective to all Greek women and all Greeks.
This state that we envision, is a state that when the prime minister’s nephew picks up the phone and says: “Watch the leaders of the Armed Forces, the candidate for the leader of PASOK, the minister of the New Democracy government”, the state through the EYP he answers: “No sir, you do your job and we do ours”. When Mr. Pappas picks up the phone and says: “Set up the license tenders so we can distribute the shares to the oligarchs who support SYRIZA”, the state answers him: “You do your job and we do our job”.
