By Penelope Galliou
Many times during his tenure and in a neutral political time, the prime minister had repeatedly referred to the new government that will emerge after the elections, if the citizens trust him again to govern the country, and to its characteristics. In this context many times the Kyriakos Mitsotakis he did not hesitate to speak openly and call on executives from other political arenas. A “recipe that has been successfully tested – according to the judgment of the citizens in the polls – also in the current ND government, integrating politicians from the center into the government structure. Akis Skertsos – who is intended to be a government representative for the pre-election period – is one of those persons who come from the political space of the so-called center, as well as Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Giorgos Gerapetritis, Michalis Chrysochoidis in the previous government scheme, Lina Mendoni but also the deputy ministers Panagiotis Tsakloglou and Theodoros Livanios.
So the prime minister intends to do the same in a possible next ND government that the ballot box will show. “I firmly believe that in our country the stable governments that enjoy a parliamentary majority, consisting of one party but not only of one color – I emphasize this – are the most suitable, they are the most tested and the ones that can finally ensure that the country will move very quickly on the path we have drawn” the Prime Minister himself recently emphasized from Lamia.
The space of the center consequently and as already seen in its political aspirations Megaros Maximoswill also be a key reservoir for Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the upcoming elections, especially when self-reliance is a central goal of the ND.
The “piece” in the center is expected to be a key element in the puzzle of the preparation of the ballots, which has essentially been completed and the last pieces are being placed by the trio of Yannis Bratakou, Pavlos Marinakis and Thanasis Nezis in order for the ballots to be announced by the end of the week of May 21.
Persons who are already in the party or the government, come from the area of the center and of PASOK, but they did not claim the vote of the citizens in the 2019 elections, they have already been recorded in the lists of candidates with Michalis Chrysochoidis going down in the Western Sector, Kyriakos Pierakakis in Athens A. In the same district, Anna Rokofyllou, the daughter of the former Minister of PASOK, Christos Rokofyllou, will claim a vote for the First Athens.
With the blue ballot, a candidate in Arcadia will also be the former coordinator of PASOK’s policy sectors, Apostolos Spyropoulos, son of PASOK’s founding member Robert Spyropoulos.
Also, Dimitris Saltouros, who was a PASOK member of parliament during the 2012-2015 period, will be a candidate for the second time with the ND in the prefecture of Xanthi, as will Eleftheria Fatlakis with a rich tenure in the Local Government as Deputy Governor of the South Aegean and significant political activity as Head of Island Policy of PASOK.
From a PASOK candidate, now a candidate with New Democracy will also be Hariklia Dermanaki in Chania, who was tested as a PASOK candidate in the 2012 elections, without succeeding in being elected.
Georgia Milaki, who will go down to Heraklion, Crete, is joining forces with the ND, leaving Stavros Arnautakis’ regional councilor.
Finally, the list of its “centers”. SW adds the professor and former minister in the government that was formed in 2012, Napoleon Maraveyas, who is expected to descend on the region of Kefalonia and Ithaca.
