Criticizing the Government’s economic policy, he spoke of “the development of the so-called extroversion, which instead of creating many and good jobs, half of them are part-time jobs of 500 euros”.
In the Ilion toured today President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis.
“PASOK is here to give answers to the underprivileged” noted Mr. Androulakis while speaking to friends and executives. Criticizing the Government’s economic policy, he spoke of “the development of the so-called extroversion, which instead of creating many and good jobs, half of them are part-time jobs of 500 euros”.
Regarding the issue of bad loans, the President of PASOK-Movement of Change criticized SYRIZA that “even though it promised to ease private debt, it handed over the bad loans to the crows of the funds”.
Referring to the need to protect the first home, Mr. Androulakis emphasized that “*the 2010 law saved the first home of thousands of our fellow citizens during the years of the great economic crisis. We negotiated this legislative framework against the toughest troika. This law was scrapped by the SYRIZA government and repealed by the Mitsotakis government. We bring it back up-to-date with today’s data, so that no first home is lost to families who are unable to meet their loan obligations*. Families who fought in an honest way, but their incomes are not enough to cover their needs. For these people there must be universal protection of the first home. We want a fair solution to be given to the issue of private debt and not to burn the green ones together with the dry ones – the strategic non-payers”.
The President of PASOK-Movement of Change underlined the acute problem of high housing costs and repeated the party’s proposal to create a pool of 150,000 social housing units, which will be available at low rent to families with social criteria. “We do not say, like Mr. Mitsotakis, ‘take low-interest loans to acquire new assets.’ *We propose the creation of a pool of low-rent housing for young couples, students and retirees, so that due to competition, rents in urban centers will fall overall*’ he said.
He was in favor of taxing the excess profits of the Banks, which arose from the large gap between deposit rates and lending rates.
“We have given billions from the taxes of the Greek people to support the banking system. It does not mean that it does not give liquidity to small and medium enterprises and leads to an unfavorable position for borrowers”, noted the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
Regarding the tragic train accident in Tempi, Mr. Androulakis underlined that PASOK-Movement of Change submitted to the Parliament the conclusion of the Transparency Authority which identified who was responsible for the delay in the implementation of contract 717 for the installation of the remote control system on the railway .
“Instead of the cockfight between Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis, *we call on them to immediately go to justice with all the evidence from the Transparency Authority so that the Greek people will know who is really responsible for the tragedy of Tempi*” he stressed .
“*The nightmare of populism, which undermines public debate, must end*. Who doesn’t want us to discuss programs, but to discuss bugs. We started this election campaign by putting the program in the field of conflict. I did not hear a response from our political opponents when I pledged to the Greek people that all public organizations and hospitals will have managements selected through open international tenders. Do they agree with what we are saying or *will they continue to appoint their “party children” using the state as a spoil in their hands?* We, on the contrary, want a state that guarantees the public interest” underlined Mr. Androulakis, developing the programmatic commitments of PASOK-Movement Change.
“I did not hear them respond to our proposals for the National Health System, bad loans, social housing. I only heard the anxiety of Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis about who the “unknown X” is. It is not these two, because it is known what they did in the last eight years deceiving the Greek people. We are asking for a strong mandate to be able to enforce the program, which will give opportunities to the weak Greeks and reduce inequalities,” Mr. Androulakis emphasized regarding the post-election partnerships.
“Against these two choices, Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis, we are talking about persons of common acceptance. *I will not say, therefore, in an arrogant way who will be the next prime minister, because all this – as well as the programmatic convergences – is part of a framework of dialogue and agreement between the parties. We ask for a strong mandate, to make the country a normal European country where the state will guarantee the public interest, the political system will serve programmatic commitments and not client interests for the respective oligarchs*” concluded Mr. Androulakis.
“*My political opponents have learned the toxicity, discord and discredit of public dialogue. We will not play in their stadium. We will play in our stadium. That of realism and progress*” noted the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
