The economy is an area that the ruling party considers to be clearly superior to SYRIZA

A week after the announcement of the May 21 elections and the political scene is being “bombarded” by allegations of scandals and scandals, by deals and flirtations pre-election or post-election, by various confrontations on every subject and in the background the economy slowly began to “emerge”. A field that constitutes the “frontier” of the argumentation and criticism of all parties in a pre-election period and in fact the economy, especially the part of it that directly touches the everyday life of the citizen, is the one that weighs heavily on the decision behind the screen.
For Maximos Palace and the ruling party, the economic course of the country is in the priorities not only of the policy it exercised during the period of governance, but it is recorded on the front lines of the government agenda both pre-election, and will continue post-election as well if it receives a second governance mandate from the citizens. It is no coincidence that the prime minister insistently and emphatically puts forward the government initiatives thanks to which the country entered a path of upward recovery.
The economy is an area which the ruling party considers to be clearly superior to it SYRIZA and driven by this, Kyriakos Mitsotakis bets a lot on the policy pursued by the ND which, as he points out, combined fiscal responsibility with rapid rates of growth and rapid de-escalation of the public debt, thus managing to regain the country’s trust worldwide, while simultaneously supporting households and businesses and distributing in a fair manner the dividend of development to all Greeks.
The strategy of Megaros Maximos and Piraeus besides, they focus on two axes: First, on the reminder of what has been achieved during the “blue four years”, such as the unfreezing of pensions, the increase of the minimum wage, the reduction of insurance contributions, tax interventions, etc. Secondly, in the presentation of the positions for the following day, with an emphasis on the issue of salaries, which concerns and worries all employees.
After all, the prime minister characterized Greece as a “pleasant surprise of Europe”, presenting the positive prospects of the Greek economy at an event of the Ministry of Finance on the topic “Greek Economy: Resilience – Progress – Perspective” and as he said “in 2023 Greece will produce a primary surplus ” and appeared optimistic that Greece, if a strong government emerges from the elections, will regain investment status within 2023, while announcing an 8% increase in OPECA benefits for all beneficiaries.
Proposing this positive narrative for the economy, reinforcing it with what has been done and will be done or will be continued by the ND, Kyriakos Mitsotakis called on the citizens to weigh policies, situations and results and to give a second strong mandate to “proceeding” as he said characteristically. “Our fellow citizens have experienced the transition from populism to realism and from fixation to progress. “They will compare and judge, weigh and decide,” said Mr. Mitsotakis, pointing out that “with a milestone on Sunday, May 21, united Greek men and women will give a second strong command to the advance, so that independent Greece can move forward as it deserves firmly, boldly and only forward”.
