Prime Minister and president of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis paid a visit to the Municipality of Petroupoli today, who walked the main streets and talked to residents and shopkeepers.

“I want better earnings, better wages for everyone”

“I know well that wages are still low. Yes, we are the ones who increased the minimum wage from 650 to 780 euros. But I don’t want the young men and women who are with us today to look forward to a lifetime of living on the minimum wage. I want better salaries, better wages for everyone”, noted Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“It matters a lot who steers the boat. We have faced great adventures in these four years: an immigration invasion, an aggressive neighbor, a pandemic, a war in Ukraine, natural disasters, a major energy crisis, an inflationary crisis.

However, we proved that we can keep the steering wheel of the country stable. And we also proved something else: that we can return the surplus of development back to those who need it the most”, emphasized the Prime Minister.

“Pensions increased for the first time by 8% after twelve years. And I know there are still things to do.

We did not vote for the Katrougalou law. Others you will hold to account, those who are now supposed to be cut for the pensioners and the middle class, when they screwed you in taxes and cut your pensions. Ask them for the bill today, not us”, pointed out Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“What we have achieved in 4 years can easily be reversed – I claim a strong mandate”

“Nothing is a fact. All that we have achieved in four years can easily be overturned if the election result is not what we expect.

I claim a strong mandate in New Democracy so that we can continue this course.

And I must tell you that today, at the ballot box on May 21, there is essentially only one government proposal. Everything else I hear doesn’t make much sense.

“Progressive governance”, some say, Prime Minister the “unknown X”, some others say. We answer them: New Democracy in government if you want to know that what you vote for is what you will get the next day. So that you don’t find yourself in front of any surprises.

Because, you know, after leaving the ballot box, no mistake is recognized. And because I also hear a lot about double elections, about what will happen after May 21st. The ballot box is one, friends. On May 21, New Democracy will be powerful and then everything will be set in motion,” underlined Mr. Mitsotakis.
