“We are proud of this and we say it: The KKE is a force of truth, of struggle, of overturning,” emphasized the head of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas, in his speech today at the Conference of the Party Organization of Central Macedonia.

“We will go wherever it is” is the logic of ND, SYRIZA, PASOK. But this has been tried and that is why now we need to “go another way”, with the KKE. Abstaining from the races and the ballot box means silence and covering up responsibilities, just like voting for ND – SYRIZA – PASOK, is ultimately complicity in the many crimes that have been committed, but also in the next ones that are prescribed, as a result of the policy they follow” he added.

As he said, “all of Europe has tried liberal and social democratic parties, the cooperation of liberal and social democratic parties, governments of cooperation with mutant left and communist parties.

We have known centre-left governments in France and Italy, taking an active role earlier in the breakup of Yugoslavia, participating in the war, as well as in the other wars in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, elsewhere.

As we saw them last time, applauding here in Greece and elsewhere all together – right-wing center-left ND, SYRIZA, PASOK – Zelensky with the Nazis of Azov in the parliaments”.

“The next parliament will probably have some surprises. As it has in the past” noted D. Koutsoubas and added: “However, we did not let the surprises disorient us. We have seen transfers of MPs from one party to another, which looks set to continue. We saw new commas appear, which turned out to be disposable. In the past, LA.OS, Potami, Union of Centers, ANEL, other smaller ones, played the game of reforming the rotten political system for good, participated in government schemes, became a launderer of the sins of the capitalist system and disappeared”.

He noted, among other things, that the aim of SYRIZA’s proposal, which he described as a “bluff”, for an allegedly progressive government, “is the interception of votes so that the KKE is impossible, that is, the Greek people are impossible. They seek, thus, to stop the labor-popular movement, so that the governments, of whatever color and composition, have their hands free to pass their anti-popular measures, under the auspices of Brussels and Washington, to make whatever agreements and fools are needed, primarily in Greece, to make fun of the people”.

“We have said for many years, more than a decade, that this game of the bourgeois political system, of the continuous management of the brutality of capitalism, we are not going to play it, because we do not want to kill the hopes of the people” he underlined.

“In the KKE we are realistic fighters. We are not asking for all or nothing, as some claim. Nor that we want to remain “undefiled and uncontaminated” keeping our political “virginity”, as a SYRIZA trade unionist said, coming from the deep PASOK – of course, of course – in Kavala” said D. Koutsoubas and added:

“And this is not the case, quite simply because we are not going to sit idly by on May 22, whatever government is formed. We will not be mere spectators and observers, waiting for the people to be disappointed and learn lessons for the umpteenth time from the bitter lesson.

We will be in the only majority that will exist, in the popular majority. And we will do everything in our power so that the people do not lose anything else, so that they do not lose everything. To claim at least something to win in order to organize his counterattack with confidence,” he stressed.

He said that the KKE has “elaborated demands and immediate goals for today, here and now”, for all major issues concerning the workers and the popular strata, that it “exposes the anti-popular laws that are being passed” while at the same time too many issues the KKE ” he has also processed them as proposals for law, of course he also puts them in parliament, but first of all in the struggles, in the movement”.

“That’s why we ask for power, great power to make the struggles more effective, that’s why we can also meet at the ballot box with workers who have class consciousness, with fighters without demanding that they adopt all our positions” he underlined.

D. Koutsoubas said that based on the current correlation of forces “it will take a hard effort for the people to discover their power, to go on the counterattack as the radical upheaval that we give it a name and content: workers’ popular power, socialization of wealth, disengagement from the EU and NATO, unilateral cancellation of the debt, workers’ popular control from the bottom up” and added that “the KKE is ready to present such a genuine people’s government-power, with the people as sovereign”.

He underlined the necessity of strengthening the social alliance, pointing out, “one more time”, that the proposal for alliances of the KKE “does not start upside down, from the top. The alliance from above is vulnerable, if weight and priority is not given to the most basic: The alliance of social forces that have an interest in confronting the monopolies, the choices of the imperialists”.

“This alliance has a name: Alliance of the working class with the self-employed in the city and the countryside. The social alliance is what must be done by the people themselves. But, without a powerful KKE, this alliance will not be able to gain mass, efficiency, continuity with perspective, to conquer anti-monopoly anti-capitalist orientation. It is a necessary condition to put serious obstacles in the sweeping advance of capital and its parties, to fight their politics effectively and victoriously for the people,” he stressed.

“The overthrow, the workers’ popular power, will not be conquered by the KKE alone, as they falsely claim that we, the other parties, say so. It will be conquered by the leading people and the leading working class and its allies. Because only the people save the people. And we will certainly be there, on the front line. We will be blood donors, but the protagonist will be the people,” he said.

Pointing out the criticality of the upcoming election battle, he said that “if it remains unexploited for the people, then the next day, from worse conditions, it will face the new, more powerful war that is coming in all sectors. But with a powerful KKE at the ballot box and a people emancipated from dilemmas, blackmail and delusions, then it is certain that we will be in a better position to fend off this new war.”

“So the KKE is powerful at the ballot box. If we are stronger, the stature of the people will be stronger in the attack that will be launched in the next period. That is why we must take steps forward, not turn back.

So that we can envision and fight for the radical change and upheaval that will come to Greece and other European countries. Because only the people save the people on the road to overthrow with a strong KKE” underlined D. Koutsoumbas concluding his speech.
