Mr.Housekeeper he described as “sad” the attempt by Mr. Papadimoulis and SYRIZA “to make it difficult to expand the Evros fence” and noted that the European Parliament was positioned in favor of the possibility of EU funding.

“The sad effort of Mr. Papadimouli and SYRIZA to make it difficult to expand the fence on the Evros, through which the guarding of the borders of Greece and consequently of the EU is strengthened, fell today in the Plenary of the European Parliament” said Mr. Economou and added:

“The European Parliament was positioned in favor of the possibility of EU financing of the continuation and expansion of the project. Europe recognizes the importance of the project and more broadly of Greece’s migration policies. As the Greek society that remembers and compares recognizes it” noted the government representative and concluded:

“The era of SYRIZA, when borders at sea did not exist and on land were unguarded, definitely belongs to the past. Let’s move forward and not return to the burdensome yesterday.”
