Mr. Androulakis emphasized that while investigations have been carried out by the Belgian authorities for 2.5 years and nowhere has her name or one of her photos been found, within a few seconds it became a buzzword all over the Greek internet.
Speaking this evening in Mytilini and referring to the Georgoulis case, the President of PASOK-Movement for Change spoke of “a digital parastatal that when someone complains that they are being illegally monitored, it shows them as an agent of foreign powers”.
“When a young woman has the courage – three years before the national elections and not just before, as the SYRIZA trolls want to claim – to denounce criminal acts, this digital parastatal tries to lead her into a very difficult position, without no respect for human rights. So we have one more debt: On May 21, let’s end the digital parastatal, which creates toxic conflicts, discredits people and trivializes institutions with the sole purpose of the chair and power”, he added characteristically.
Mr. Androulakis emphasized that “while investigations are being carried out by the Belgian authorities for 2.5 years and nowhere has her name or one of her photos been found, in a few seconds it became a flyer all over the Greek internet. This only happens in our country. Where are the institutions? Where is the justice? So here is the debt of the democratic faction. That is why we are and will be the core of the democratic faction in our country.”
Regarding the conclusion of the Gerapetritis committee on the train accident in Tempi that was made public today, Mr. Androulakis noted the dramatic delays in the implementation of contract 717 for the installation of remote control, which, although it had an implementation horizon of 2016, was not completed until today. In addition, he highlighted the Transparency Authority’s conclusion from 2021, which was left in the drawer.
“What does the finding say about the 717 convention? Is Mr. Karamanlis ultimately responsible? Who is the one who did not take the file of the Independent Transparency Authority to the Greek justice system? Who is he, who covered up yet another scandal, resulting in Greece experiencing this tragedy a year and a half later? Who did the illegal transfer of the station master? But also in this matter, I see that priority is darkness and not light. Priority is the management of political costs. What happened in Mati, we unfortunately see in the culture of governance and in this tragedy. The Greek people only ask for one thing: Justice. But justice everywhere and for everyone. And no, justice for all of us and not for the cronies of Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Tsipras,” pointed out Mr. Androulakis.
He persisted in his criticism that the European right does not want a permanent system of relocation of refugees and immigrants and in response to the claims of the Minister of Migration Policy, he noted: “I want to inform Mr. Mitsotakis that we are participating in the forum of the Mediterranean countries, which is also discussing the review of Regulation “Dublin” long before his government. I mean, what do they want? Should we applaud them for not leaving? Populism is not only without a tie. It is both with a tie and a collar, as the New Democracy government proves. We have a clear position: Obviously, for us, the sea has borders. Obviously, every European state has a duty to protect its borders.”
Nikos Androulakis presented the proposal of PASOK-Movement of Change on private debt and bad loans and commented strongly: “I hear some say that it is not Mr. Tsipras’s fault that he handed over bad loans to foreign funds in 2015, because he was pressured the lenders. Excuse me, were the pressures stronger in 2015 and not in 2010 with a 15.5% external deficit, which Mr. Karamanlis delivered to us?
Could it be that Mr. Tsipras, the prime minister of the so-called seisachtia, led our country into a waterhole of negotiations, which today we are paying very dearly for? And worst of all, he is also unrepentant. And he took advantage of the social impasses created by Karamanlis and takes the executives of Mr. Karamanlis and presents them as the saviors of the next day. Oh no. If this is the Left, then we have a greater duty to strengthen the democratic faction so that the country has a real Center-Left and not the Left-ally of Mr. Karamanlis”.
He emphasized about Greek-Turkish relations that “after the elections in Turkey, the history of provocations, blackmail, and the exploitation of refugees and immigrants must end. And for this there is only one way: The single European foreign policy. Greece must take the lead in creating the Euro-Army. We want a neighboring country that respects international law. We claim no rivalries. We do not stimulate a conflict atmosphere. But we want respect for our sovereign rights in Cyprus and the Aegean. This is non-negotiable. Our European partners have a duty to stop selling arms to Turkey, as long as Turkey does not respect the sovereign rights of two European states. Because the only path to stability in the Southeast Mediterranean is for either Mr. Erdogan or Mr. Kilicdaroglu to understand that every inch of our country and every inch of Cyprus is European territory.”
Regarding the stake of the national election ballot box, Mr. Androulakis emphasized: “Can he solve the problem of bad loans who promised “seismachtia” and sold off the bad loans of the Greek people to the funds? Can he talk about protecting the first home of the weakest Greeks, who basically eliminated all its protection? Or can they guarantee a strong Democracy, the rule of law and the separation of powers, the persons who violated every concept of human rights and the rule of law?”
