SYRIZA knows and can bring about the change, emphasized the president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, in an interview with the Alpha television station. Referring to the issue of accuracy, he admitted that it is not a Greek phenomenon, but profiteering is, adding that “the government has surplus income from VAT to subsidize profiteering”.

Regarding the cooperation governments, he said that they are done on an agreed programmatic basis and added that “he who has 3% or 4% cannot impose his conditions”.

For proposal by Yanis Varoufakis he said: “Do you think I met with Chancellor Soltz to discuss such a perspective as Mr. Varoufakis is saying? It’s funny to talk about. It is bad to fight in the shadows in politics”.

The main points of the Tsipras interview:

– It is crucial to have experience to govern. The world wants change but also certainty.
– We governed in the most difficult conditions with the troika over its head and managed to get the country out of the memorandums and enabled the governments to govern with their program.
– There is dissatisfaction with Mitsotakis, expectations were denied.
– SYRIZA knows and can bring change.

– Accuracy is not Greek but profiteering is Greek.
– All over Europe there was a reduction in VAT, a reduction in excise duty on fuel, controls on the market, taxation of excess profits.
– To give perspective of breath, hope, support.
– Right now there is a redistribution of income from the many to the few and powerful.
– We had the obligation to collect 40 billion, Mr. Mitsotakis had the possibility to give 60 billion. If we had the possibility to give 60 billion, society would have been supported.
– The government has excess revenue from VAT to subsidize profiteering.
– The middle class lives on coupons.

For cooperation governments – Varoufakis

– Cooperation governments are made on an agreed programmatic basis.
– He who has 3% or 4% cannot impose his conditions.
– There are many ways to support a government either by participation or by tolerance.
– Do you think I met with Chancellor Soltz to discuss such a perspective as Mr. Varoufakis says? It’s funny to talk about. It is bad to fight in the shadows in politics.

For debate

– The dilemma “Mitsotakis or Tsipras” was raised by Mitsotakis. And when you put this dilemma you must be ready to compare.
– In 2015 there was a discussion between all of us and between the two of us with Mr. Meimarakis.
– Mr. Mitsotakis constantly denies it.
– Obviously we should all go together. But why doesn’t Mr. Mitsotakis come to a dialogue between the two so that the world understands our positions? What is he afraid of?

For Georgoulis

– Very unpleasant event, as soon as we found out we reacted instantly and immediately.
– In matters of gender-based violence, we cannot keep equal distances and they cannot exist, yes, but I immediately came out to say that we are with the victim and not with the perpetrator.
– The complainant herself said that not even your family knew about it, is it possible that we knew about it?
– There is a perception that says “why now?” every time a woman complains. We answer: “because so”. We have to overcome this.

– Within me, on the one hand, fear and on the other, the obligation to the world were clashing.
– My intention was to go all the way and honor the mandate of the people.
– Our decision was to support society. We made mistakes but serving a right choice.
– We reached the end and managed to get the country out of the memoranda that had failed 3 governments before us.
