“Mr. Tsipras today talks about a government of tolerance. We have a clear proposal. We guarantee growth and stability. I will not accept any scenario of a government of tolerance”, said the Prime Minister – “The obscene hashtag ndpederastes organized by SYRIZA”
The prime minister proposed the strong New Democracy as a key counterweight to the possible government of the defeated Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the interview with ALPHA TV and Antonis Schroiter.
Mr. Mitsotakis began to position himself by referring to the developments in Sudan and the operation to rescue the Greeks who are at risk: “It is a complex operation. Essentially, we are called to evacuate our fellow citizens from a war zone. We have brought our first fellow citizens. We are also in consultation with other countries. I have contacted President Macron four times. I have ordered two of our aircraft to be relocated to a base in southern Egypt. If we are going to land in Sudan, it will be after the safety of the flights is ensured. We expect the Americans to take control,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis told Alpha about the developments in Sudan.
About polls, he said they are useful, but he rarely looks at them during the pre-election period. “I think it is borne out by all the measurements. Tempi was a logical shock. Now that we can see the dilemmas of the elections, I believe that the people are rallying again in the ND and I am optimistic about the election result”, he said, noting that he never questioned the opinion polls.
Regarding the so-called government of the losers, the prime minister said that the only reason for not taking action is that the ND is strong. “There may indeed be a government of losers which will include SYRIZA, PASOK and Mr. Varoufakis, which Mr. Tsipras did not renounce today. It is unthinkable that some people play monopoly with the lives of citizens,” he added.
Regarding the tolerance government scenario, he said that he claims parliamentary autonomy. “Mr. Tsipras today talks about a government of tolerance. We have a clear proposal. We guarantee growth and stability. What is the other proposal?” he added, noting that this also concerns Mr. Androulakis. “I am not impressed because the polls show that PASOK’s percentages are shrinking”, he continued and made it clear that he will not accept any government scenario that does not have a majority in Parliament. “I claim self-reliance. Very difficult in the first ballot, but it will set the framework for us to achieve it in the second,” he added.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that it will be respected Constitution and he will normally receive the mandate entrusted to him by the Greek people after the May 21 elections.
The prime minister said that his central commitments were kept and that apparently there were also delays and mistakes. He said that his central priority will be the national health system and in justice we need to run with faster steps. “Obviously, prime ministers also have to close their circle at some point. I have always believed that it takes two four years to change Greece. We certainly need two four years to say that Greece has changed track and we have become Europe. I said it from the first moment”, he said, while when asked if a prime minister should close his cycle at 8 years, he answered “probably”.
Asked about the country’s image in the European Parliament, he said he was cautious about the Georgoulis case and would not draw conclusions about the morality of a place from a single behavior. He said the obscenities hashtag ndpederastes were organized by SYRIZA. Regarding the method of electing the MEPs, he said that his suggestion is to change it and return to a list like in the State.
“I am also doing my own self-criticism and I believe that the time has come to go to the anti-star system. You will see it on the State ballot,” he said, noting that it has ended up on the State ballot.
Regarding the debate, the prime minister said: “The debate that should be held is with all the political leaders. I personally pursue it very much and I want it. We must not forget that our system is parliamentary. And with simple analogy let’s see what they mean by progressive governance. Let me remind you that Mr. Tsipras said the opposite when the debate between the first two was once discussed. The first ballot box, the simple proportional one, must have a debate with everyone. In the second ballots there is logic because someone will get the bonus”.
