The resignation of the director of the newspaper “Avgi”, Angelos Tsekeris, submitted his resignation, noting in a post on Facebook that the daily sheet is not viable.

At Avgi, I took over as manager at the end of April 2018.
I believed that regardless of the general crisis of the press, the circulation of the newspaper was dramatically underestimated. So if we showed interest and care for the image and its content, people would respond. And the space would acquire a sustainable, intrusive and serious newspaper as it deserves.

The truth is that in the course of time since then, the newspaper has gained new readers. But young readers do not go to the newsstand. They want the pdf. And to ensure its viability, the electronic newspaper needed 5,000 subscribers.
