A large number of people attended the pre-election event of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, candidate for Member of Parliament in the northern sector of Athens with New Democracy, Nikis Kerameos, which took place yesterday at the Galatsi Olympic Gymnasium.

Niki Kerameos thanked those present and narrated “a journey, from the past to the future”. He recalled the state of the country, as received by the Government of the New Republic of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in 2019, and referred to the enormous efforts made to reorganize the economy, Education, health, foreign policy and all areas of politics.

Niki Kerameos briefly listed the changes that have taken place in recent years in Education. Among them, English in kindergarten, assessment, skills workshops, interactive whiteboards and robotics in all schools of the country, new curricula. In Vocational Education and Training, the direct connection with society and the labor market and the creation of public IEK departments in sought-after specialties. In higher education, internal Erasmus, professional postgraduate degrees, industrial doctorates, partnerships with leading universities abroad, among many others.

Regarding the future, he developed the 4 axes of the New Democracy program for the next four years, which builds on the valuable experience of the 4 years:
1. Higher salaries in the public and private sector, in order to have better services.
2. Better public, efficiency bonus and healthy incentives in public, evaluation everywhere.
3. Better national health system. In the first two years we faced the pandemic, now we are upgrading our infrastructure with more hospitals and health centers.
4. Additional policies for young people, mainly in terms of housing. With a project of more than 8 billion euros, the next step will be taken to further support our young people.

“The present is the bridge between the past and the future. This bridge is next Sunday. To be able to take the next step, to build the Greece we deserve. There is one ballot box and it is on Sunday, May 21”, said Niki Kerameos.

She expressed her warm thanks to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the constant support, to former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras who honored her in 2015 with a place on the State ballot, to her over 62,500 voters in 2019, to the educational community, to her colleagues, to her family.
