The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, after submitting the three exploratory orders for the formation of a government, calls the leaders of the parties of the Parliament resulting from the May 21 elections to a meeting at the Presidential Palace tomorrow, Wednesday, May 24, in accordance with article 37 par. 2 subsection c of the Constitution

The meeting will take place at 11:00.

It is recalled that earlier today the cycle of investigative orders is closed to the parties from the President of the Republic, without, as expected, a governmental solution or even an attempt at a governmental solution. Both Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Androulakis returned the investigative order.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during his meeting yesterday with the PtD, returned the investigative order saying: “I consider it my duty to overcome the obstacle of simple proportionality as quickly as possible, and I intend to return the exploratory mandate to you in the afternoon, so that we can have an election, possibly on June 25.”

The president of SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsipras, met today with Mrs. Sakellaropoulou without receiving the mandate either, while leaving the Presidential Palace he described the result of the elections as “painful”, while taking full responsibility.

The president of PASOK-KINAL Nikos Androulakisthe third-in-line political leader, also returned the investigative mandate as he said “there is no scope for governmental convergences on the basis of programmatic agreements”.
