Of Antonis Angeletou

The new electoral landscape is very different.

The hegemony of New Democracy, as captured on May 21, is very difficult to dispute.

Of course, elections are always held to elect the government and not the official opposition.

The 20 points difference, however, has turned all interest to what will happen between SYRIZA and PASOK.

“Wrong” are constantly emphasized by executives of Piraeus.

From the blue faction, they constantly “exorcise” the loose vote and they do not want the SYRIZA argument to “take place” under any circumstances, that if the New Democracy wins again with the same percentage and the same difference, it will be uncontrollable.

For this reason, a signal was given to lower the tone in relation to reports about the 180 seats he claims for the revision of the Constitution.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is determined not to waste any time and starts the tours from Monday where he will visit the region that is elected, Western Athens.

From a “castle” of SYRIZA it passed into blue hands and the president of New Democracy will give the signal of victory for the next elections from Peristeri.

On Tuesday and Wednesday he will tour Crete, on Friday he will be in Thessaly and on Saturday in Thessaloniki and Halkidiki.

On Sunday he will visit Mount Athos.

SYRIZA has its “back against the wall”.

When the official opposition manages to drop its percentages, something is wrong.

The front may be clearly against New Democracy, however they want PASOK to be identified with the blue faction, implying that it is very likely to work with Kyriakos Mitsotakis if he does not complete self-reliance in the next polls.

This is the reason why they did not leave the statements of Katerina Batzeli and Milena Apostolaki unaddressed. The answer of Nikos Androulakis was categorical, knowing that it will only do the Movement no good to present itself as close to the “embrace” of New Democracy.

In Harilaou Trikoupi, continuing the autonomous course, what they wish is to raise their percentages and “push” SYRIZA to third place.

Either immediately – that would be the ideal scenario – or in the next period with the new composition of the new Parliament. They don’t seem to be in a hurry in Harilaou Trikoupi.

11.46% have whetted their appetite and see the way open for a return to the hegemonic role the party had until 2009 in the center-left. Programmatically and with new tours, Nikos Androulakis is expected to move.

In Koumoundourou they are preparing a “strike team” that will represent SYRIZA on the television stations with a more composed speech following the party’s line faithfully. According to information, among those allegedly participating are Popi Tsapanidou, Efi Ahtsioglou, Alexis Haritsis, Nassos Iliopoulos, Dimitris Tzanakopoulos, Kostas Zachariadis, Nikos Farandouris, Diana Voutyrakou, Dionysis Teboneras, Evangelos Apostolakis, Katerina Notopoulos, Thanasis Theocharopoulos and of course Euclid Tsakalotos and Olga Gerovasili from the oldest executives. SYRIZA’s goal is no longer to hold large gatherings, but to develop the program in thematic sections by opening a dialogue with social groups.
