The new facilities of his fish shop Fishing Cooperative Keramotis Kavalawhich is expected to be operational in about a month, was visited by the president of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis and met with the president of the Cooperative Stavros Arvanitakis and members of the administration.

“We also put our little hand into making the fish shop” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, as soon as he arrived, and the president of the Cooperative added: “You didn’t put in a little, you put in a lot.”

“This project is practical proof that tax cuts lead to growth. We reduced your taxes and you are growing”, remarked Mr. Mitsotakis.

He was then given a tour of the fishmonger’s premises, where fish will not only be sold, but also grilled on site, and immediately afterwards the management of the cooperative thanked him for his contribution and offered him tsipouro with meze, while inviting him to attend the ceremony for the opening of the fish shop.

The fish shop, which in addition to the shop also has areas for packaging the fish, cost around 400,000 euros and took five years to complete.

The cooperative has 27 members and as its president Stavros Arvanitakis said, this is the first time it has acquired a privately owned fish shop. The annual production of the fish cooperative is about 70 to 80 tons, while in the good old days it reached 180 tons.

Immediately after the fishmonger, Mr. Mitsotakis visited fishermen, during their working hours, at the fishing shelter, in the port of Keramoti, and talked with them for a while. He then walked along the coastal road of Keramoti, until he boarded the ship to take him to Thassos.

Mr. Mitsotakis was accompanied by his wife Marevathe candidate MPs of Kavala Nikos Panagiotopoulos and Makarios Lazaridisthe regional governor of eastern Macedonia and Thrace Christos Metios and the Mayor of Nestos Savva Michaelidis.
