A member of PASOK – Movement for Change was found in the earthquake-stricken Florina on Friday, January 14, in order to be informed about the problems from the recent earthquake.
In successive meetings with the Mayor and the Deputy Regional Governor, there was complete and detailed information on the mobilization of local authorities with the earthquake and the course of the ongoing autopsies, both in public infrastructure and in the 800 buildings that have been declared.
From the side of the PASOK – Movement for Change branch, it was stressed that the sole purpose of the visit is the valid information and the practical support to the earthquake-stricken Florina. The data so far show that a realistic and flexible scheme with full funding must be adopted so that there is an immediate recovery of damage to buildings and household data and difficult weather conditions.
The team also visited the Florina Hospital and the Social Welfare Center of Western Macedonia.
At the Hospital, the Commander and the Chairman of the Scientific Committee informed the Head of Health, George Fraggidis, about the shortages of human resources.
At the Center, the Administration of the institution informed the team about the damage from the earthquake and about the prospects of the center, which is a pioneering welfare structure and must be supported by all.
In all the meetings, it was emphasized that the remote areas of the country are a priority for PASOK – Movement for Change, as stated by President Nikos Androulakis from the remote Lemnos.
The leader of the group was Kilkis MP George Fraggidis and the member of the Political Council of the party Paris Koukoulopoulos. Also present were the member of the Central Political Committee Christos Naoum and the members of the Prefectural Committee of Florina Michael Tsiokas (Deputy Secretary), Nikos Arvanitakis, and Leonidas Kalyvianos.
