“Let not a single vote, not a single MP be lost,” added Mr. Koutsoubas and added that in Toumba and other popular and working-class areas, the KKE became a third party and elsewhere even a second party.
“Each vote in the KKE directly serves, from the very next day, the struggle of our people” emphasized in his speech, tonight, at the cultural center of Toumba, Thessaloniki, the general secretary of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas.
“This is the only real opposition, which our people need and need,” emphasized Mr. Koutsoubas and added: “Because voting for the KKE will immediately become a struggle and a claim. Because a vote for the KKE will mean consistency, stability for our people. A vote for the KKE means a vote for our lives and not for their profits.”
“Let not a single vote, not a single MP be lost,” added Mr. Koutsoubas and added that in Toumba and other popular and working-class areas, the KKE became a third party and elsewhere even a second party.
The general secretary of the KKE noted that it “turned out” that the three parties ND, SYRIZA and PASOK have a common “unpopular” program and agree “on the key points”, stressing that after the May 21 elections “they can no longer blackmail with the dilemmas about “government or non-government”, or with the “muff” dilemma of “progressive” government”.
“Many people were scared, as to how an “all-powerful” ND will be dealt with,” said Mr. Koutsoubas and commented on SYRIZA’s argument that it should be voted for by the people to reduce the difference and be an “opponent of awe” to the ND.
“Are they going to drive us crazy?” In the previous four years when the ND-SYRIZA difference was smaller, when SYRIZA had 31%, did something change? Were they at any time in recent years the “rival deos” of the ND? On the contrary, he was in the most critical moments the best friend for the ND. They played the role of the most effective fire extinguisher when needed.”
Mr. Koutsoubas noted that neither SYRIZA nor PASOK gave answers “from the point of view of popular interests”, either as a government or as an opposition, but gave “time” to the ND government and the “rotten capitalist system for save them, at the expense of the people” and “they will do the same again, because they agree with the strategic choices of capital and the EU”.
“The government program of the “next day”, of the new anti-people government of the ND, is a given. It is clear and there is no room for misinterpretation. It has the signature of the Commission, the Recovery Fund, but also the US-NATO signatures. Their program includes everything that will make life even more difficult for the people,” said Mr. Koutsoubas. He added that “as much as capital needs” from such a “stable” government, it also needs as much from an opposition, consensual”, “systemic”, an opposition that will “put its back” on the important and critical “in order to increase profits of the few” and emphasized:
“And, unfortunately, SYRIZA and PASOK had and still have such opposition. SYRIZA and PASOK will actually occupy the “opposition ministries” in the next anti-popular ND government.”
Mr. Koutsoubas underlined that for a week they have been “supposedly discussing” taxation and “confounding the numbers”, but “they are not doing it by accident”, but only to hide their “basic agreement”, about “who will pay all these taxes and who will be in the bulletproof” and continued:
“That’s why none of them dares to say and touch the two numbers, which are the whole truth of their tax policy: 95% of taxes are paid by the lower classes, 5% by big capital, only… Stability for capital means greater instability and insecurity for the people. ND and SYRIZA and PASOK meet in the goal of supposed stability, regardless of what they say or don’t say.
Mr. Koutsoumbas underlined that “this is why PASOK appeared as available, either with ND or with SYRIZA”, while he accused SYRIZA of “managing to rechristen PASOK as “progressive” with the well-known discussion of a “progressive” government” and he continued:
“PASOK, which our people rightly spat on in 2012. The PASOK of the MAT, the anti-people laws of “modernization”, the bloody development goals, the euro and the Olympics that the people paid for in gold. The PASOK of the memoranda, the cut salaries and pensions, the country’s military involvement in the war in Yugoslavia, Iraq and so many others, the Ocalan tradition. SYRIZA managed to christen this PASOK and wash it off again as “progressive”. Contracting of laundries by Mr. Tsipras and his party”.
Mr. Koutsoubas wondered if the people can trust their fortunes “to PASOK which closed hospitals in droves in 2012-15 together with the ND, such as Loimodon”, or to SYRIZA “which continued the same policy” and “reached to the point of proposing a Minister of Health of common acceptance”. He wondered who will prevent “reactive changes that the ND has in its plans, with a constitutional review, for example for article 16” and added: “Is it possible to believe SYRIZA who, through the mouth of Tsipras, left open the establishment of private universities, as long as it’s Harvard-style?’
Mr. Koutsoumbas also attacked Zoe Konstantopoulou, saying that she appeared “out of nowhere”, as a “new celebrity in the media, which is especially welcoming to her” and “promotes her party as an alleged anti-systemic force”, commenting that the “anti-systemic” party judged by his attitude to social struggles both inside and outside Parliament and saying that “this party is completely absent” from them. He objected, that “over six hundred questions and reports about the problems of the workers in the area here, were submitted in four years by the two KKE MPs, Delis and Stoltidis”.
He also added that some parties “don’t even have a program, that’s why they air it, but they have leaders with a well-known marked past”, while some others, like “Niki”, have a program, “but you shudder with what they write” and continued:
“Now we have to succeed again, with an even stronger KKE, the only genuine popular militant opposition” emphasized the general secretary of the KKE and continued: “And now our people have a chance to take it even higher. To give strength to his strength. To strengthen the only option, which can really scare them: the KKE”.
