Mina Papatheodorou-Valyraki made the following statement regarding PASOK’s candidate in A’ Piraeus in the June 25 elections:

THE Sifis Valyrakis he resisted the Junta of colonels, was tortured and fought with all his might for the restoration of Democracy in our country.

Founding member from the beginning, with the late leader of PASOK, Andreas Papandreou, as one of his most trusted and close collaborators until his last moments.

His name has the weight and power even after his assassination to shape situations, to exemplify and to deliver.

The current President of PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakisproves that he has limited knowledge about SIFI’s contribution to the country and PASOK, proving it eloquently with the move to honorably include the lawyer Ioannis Glykas.

This decision is not in line with the principles and history of PASOK and raises many questions about this choice.

Ioannis Glykas acted as a defense lawyer for the alleged murderers of Sifis Valyrakis for a short period of time, with the sole purpose of their release from prison in record time.

At the same time, he is a defender of defendants in the well-known “Golden Dawn” trial, both in the first instance and today in the second instance.

We cannot prohibit the lawyer from practicing his duties even in such cases, if this is to be done for livelihood reasons.

NEVERTHELESS:

Nikos Androulakis has NO right to ignore the history and value of the founding members of the party he leads and to “honor” this particular one by participating in the lists of candidates.

I brought the facts to the attention of the President of PASOK-KINAL, on June 15, 2023, with my letter, but not only did I not receive any explanation for his action, but he also tried through third parties to completely downplay the fact.

The same thing happened to the current members of the party and for these reasons:

I declare that there is no characterization for his act, I am sorry for the mutation of PASOK, which with countless struggles changed, with Andreas Papandreou as its leader, the country and gave it the prestige it still has today.

My family will continue its fight for the revelation of the truth, against all the forces incited by the ‘Ethical Autocrat'”
