“Mr. Mitsotakis knew for a month about his “armed in Ankara” candidate, his subsequent withdrawal is hypocritical,” the president of SYRIZA claims in his statement. Alexis Tsipras commenting on her departure of the ND candidate in Rodopi, Mustafa Katrantzis. In particular, Mr. Tsipras stated:

The subsequent withdrawal from the already printed ND ballots of the candidate of Mrs. Mustafa Katartzis, simply confirms how hypocritical, unscrupulous and ultimately dangerous for our national issues Mr. Mitsotakis is.
While he knew for a month that in the EYP document his own candidate was referred to as “conscripted” in Ankara, he not only kept him on the ND ballots for the second elections, but also had the audacity to abandon SYRIZA PS and me personally for our own Muslim MP candidates.
While he knew since May 19 that his candidate was talking about “Turks of Western Thrace” in the Turkish Media, he not only did not respond to the announcements of SYRIZA PS, but also asked for certificates of national identity from his opponents’ candidates.
For a few thousand votes, Mr. Mitsotakis did not hesitate to turn the sensitive national issue of Thrace into a central issue of the pre-election debate.
And to once again manage the EYP as a personal and party tool, belittling what was left of its prestige.
So let every democratic citizen ask himself today, who does this abysmal irresponsibility really serve?
And what will dawn on the country if this arrogance and hypocrisy is rewarded at the polls next Sunday.
Some in Turkey will certainly be rubbing their hands together.
