The president of SYRIZA used harsh characterizations against Kyriakos Mitsotakis
THE SYRIZA PS has learned not to give up, “we have learned to fight to overturn results”, stressed Alexis Tsipras speaking in Ioannina, in Mavili Square. “We will fight together until the polls on the 25th of the month, but I pledge that we will be together on the 26th of the month, together we will move forward to resist anti-people policies and defend the interests of society, the program of a just society with prosperity for everyone”.
The president of SYRIZA PS launched a harsh attack on Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He commented that “the withdrawal from the already printed ballots of the ND, its candidate in Rodopi, Mr. Katrantzis, revealed the magnitude of yet another bankruptcy, a moral bankruptcy.” He said in particular that “the irresponsible business of involving sensitive national issues in the pre-election confrontation, the attempt of Mr. Mitsotakis to turn the sensitive national issue of Thrace into a central issue of the pre-election confrontation, went bankrupt in public view”, “it went bankrupt the project of converting , once again, of the EYP, in a personal tool of Mr. Mitsotakis”.
She accused him of going to trap him “by putting his EYP predator, to indicate to us who we should and should not have on our ballots”, but “in the document he sent us, it seems they forgot to delete the reference to their own candidate as ‘military’ in ‘Ankara and the Turkish consulate’. He accused the ND of audacity that “for two weeks they asked us for declarations of nationalism, playing irresponsibly and frivolously with the homeland, while their own candidate for parliament made statements about Turks of Western Thrace”.
He called Mr Mitsotakis “hypocrite, ruthless, irresponsible, nationally dangerous”, arguing that “the SW learned a big lesson today” that “SYRIZA PS was not, is not and will not become a convenient opponent”. Addressing the ND, he emphasized that “convenient two-partyism” does not work for it, that “the fragmentation of the vote into smaller convenient protest parties” will not work either, and that “SYRIZA PS will remain a strong pole of alternative governance in the face of its anti-popular plans”.
