The Italian prankster “struck again”: He created a fake account in Gerapetritis and “died” Loukas Papademos

The well-known Italian prankster, Tommaso Debenedetti, “struck again” with the “victim” this time being the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Gerapetritis.

The prankster appeared on Twitter as Giorgos Gerapetritis and allegedly announced a visit of the new foreign minister to Ankara in July.

Very important and friendly phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey @HakanFidan . I will visit Ankara next July.

But it didn’t stop there. A little later he falsely wrote that the former prime minister, Loukas Papademos, had died.

Then, with another post, he announced that the account belonged to the Italian journalist.

This account is a hoax created by Italian journalist Tommasso Debenedetti.

The response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed, in a post on social media, that Giorgos Gerapetritis did not have and does not have a personal Twitter account.
