The result of the vote, for the election of Vice Presidents of the Parliamentcommented the President of Freedom of Navigation, Zoe Konstantopoulou, with her statement, earlier today.

“Many parliamentary groups are used to making agreements, before the vote for the election of the Vice-Presidents”, said Mrs. Konstantopoulou and added that “the KO of Freedom of Navigationhas decided not to act like this” and had made it known that he would vote “present” for all Vice Presidents.

“I feel very well with the choice of Freedom of Navigation to take a stand of principle in the voting, not to exchange its vote for any kind of parliamentary privilege and I think that the governing majority is heavily exposed for the bullying events that were recorded in the morning and for this choice”, said the president of Freedom Sailing and added that the Vice President proposed by KO, Mr. Michalis Hourdakis, is a distinguished member of the scientific, medical and academic community, he is a professor at Aristotle University and has been awarded for his work. but the Parliament will not be lucky enough to have him as Vice President, but the citizens will have to evaluate his presence in the Parliament.

THE Zoe Konstantopoulou he also complained that he was jeered at the moment he asked for the reason to justify the vote of Freedom of Movement in the vote for the election of the Speaker of the House.

“Today, joining the process of electing the President, I emphasized how important the parliamentary function is, as well as the role of the Speaker of the Parliament, for the functioning of the parliamentary democracy. Also, as the only female political leader, I have emphasized that I will defend any MP, male or female, who is attacked because of their gender or personality. It didn’t take long and when I took the floor as head of Freedom Sailing, 8th party leader, to clarify and justify the vote of Freedom Sailing KO, which they had done before our Parliamentary Group, four other Parliamentary Groups and another four representatives, I accepted the well-known insults, for the sole reason that as a female political leader and former president of the Parliament I wanted to justify our vote. The principle taken by the ND Parliamentary Group, from which the slanders came, is very bad, because the right to speak and to vote according to conscience of every MP and the right to position and of every Parliamentary Group is an element of democracy”.

The President of Plevsis Eleftheria also described as worrying the fact that, while she asked for the floor today in order to be informed who were the deputies who voted “yes” and who were the deputies who voted “absent”, in the vote for the Vice-President proposed by Pleussi Eleftherias, an “anti-parliamentary panic” prevailed on the part of the Speaker of the Parliament, in order not to give her the reason and not to request that the result of an open vote be announced.
