The Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, sent a strict message to Turkey during the acceptance ceremony of 6 state-of-the-art Rafale fighters in Tanagra.
As he said, any strengthening of its defense is a projection of peace, emphasizing that in the 21st century there is no place for the falsification of history and geography, nor the arbitrary and threatening fireworks, especially when they are emitted by neighboring states.
“International law and our national vigilance respond to all this,” he stressed, adding that the message of the times must be truth and conciliation, always based on international law and especially in our region, always based on the law of the sea.
“We do not need anyone’s permission to acquire Rafale. I will not tire of repeating that with the same determination that the country closes the door to every threat, it also keeps the windows of dialogue open. Confident of its principles that follow international rules and having the firepower not only of new weapons but especially of arguments. “The former will prevent challenges, while the latter allow convergences,” he stressed.
In the same context, the Prime Minister pointed out that the new fighter jets are a power multiplier that upgrades our country in operational, technological and geopolitical level. “A new page for the blue and white feathers,” he stressed.
He said that their acquisition is linked to the renewal of the Air Force equipment and responds to the current needs of the country’s defense shield, as well as the conditions above the national territory and in the Aegean.
“But it is also a front-line geostrategic development because the acquisition of Rafale makes aviation one of the strongest in Europe and the Mediterranean and seals the defense alliance of Greece and France. The new Rafale is ready to take off for a better, more peaceful tomorrow for the whole region, he concluded.
