“To ensure the annual surpluses demanded by the Commission, the attack on the self-employed and small entrepreneurs and the cutting of subsidies for social policy expenditure will be escalated”
Opposition of the KKE inside and outside the Parliament was announced by the Secretary General of the KKE Central Committee and chairman of the Parliamentary Group, Dimitris Koutsoubas, speaking at the meeting about the program statements of the government.
“You have an opponent, gentlemen of the government,” said Mr. Koutsoubas, emphasizing that the social democratic parties such as SYRIZA and PASOK cannot form an opposition from the people’s point of view.
Mr. Koutsoubas stated that the program statements of the government show that the new government will proceed with the bloody surpluses known from the period of the memorandums, that we are facing a new crisis, but also the country’s greater involvement in the war in Ukraine.
Mr. Koutsoubas made it clear that he will not give the government a waiting period or a grace period and the 21 KKE MPs will stand by the workers and their struggles, bringing similar proposals to the Parliament.
He then pointed out that what the government says about better wages sounds like an exhibition of ideas, while the government’s firm orientation is in favor of employer interests and the new government scheme continues to move with the same compass.
“The Greek economy is already on the path of slowing down, the mandates are not good, the German economy is not doing well and the Eurozone is contracting for two consecutive quarters,” said Mr. Koutsoubas.
“In order to ensure the annual surpluses required by the Commission, the attack on the self-employed and small businessmen and the cutting of subsidies for social policy expenses will be escalated,” estimated D. Koutsoubas.
As far as Health is concerned, he described the strengthening of the EKAV with the army and the Fire Department as a “patch”, for the private sector to take over afterwards. He called “fascist formation” the Spartans and emphasized that the KKE will take the lead in the neighborhoods, the schools and the people, to “go from where they came”.
