A law will be put to a public consultation next week with an article that will remove all obstacles to the vote of Greeks abroad, said the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during his rejoinder in the debate on his government’s policy statements. At the same time, the prime minister briefly described the ten major goals of the government term and criticized the opposition, saying that during the debate he did not hear convincing arguments, but a repetition of the slogans that the citizens rejected. Mr. Mitsotakis emphatically said that Greece has entered the era of major changes and the ND was instructed to implement them.

See the rebuttal of Mr. Mitsotakis:

The prime minister started his speech with a reference to Mr. Kuchumba’s illness.

He then referred to the mild climate of the three-day debate, wishing it to continue.

The opposition’s argument lacked convincing arguments. From our side, a comprehensive plan was submitted for a dynamic, versatile modernization of the country. The political leaders were limited to repeating slogans that have already been decided since the elections. Greece has passed into the era of great changes, may it be accompanied by consents. The mandate we got is to implement these changes.

There is absolute continuity between what we said before the election and what we said here during the debate.

– to talk about the green transition, to talk about the rule of law. Who is the final judge? The EU itself, I did not hide the problems. In the last report you would have noticed that progress has been made. Let’s not waste ourselves on slogans. I heard you talking about the need to build 150,000 social housing units. How much cost? If I put 1,000 the meter is 15 billion. Are these serious talks?

– This is not an MEP, there is time and you will suffer the pain of confrontation. you will see along the way, that if there are suggestions we can incorporate, we will.

– I don’t have much to say about the official opposition, except that today you told us the same things you told us 3 months ago. You missed something. There were elections, 2 elections, we got 41% and you went, with this reason, to 17%. I understand the search for direction. You were opposing a scarecrow. The people saw something else and rewarded with a greater percentage than in 2019. I was the first to say that there are many difficult fronts, battles that we have to win. I spoke about the great challenges of the future, for all these convincing comments I did not hear.

– We are determined to proceed along the path shown by the citizens.

-Need for the country to recover the investment grade within 2023 and to repay the loans of the first memorandum.

-Tell us we need a tighter policy because public finances are not doing well or we have the means to give more. Tell us.

-Decreasing unemployment, increasing exports

-Increasing wages, reducing inequalities. We have taken steps in this direction. With the exception of the floor, increases are not made by government decisions, but by investments.

– The fifth goal is health interventions. I will emphasize the interventions in EKAB and Health Centers

– The production of electricity from RES is off target

-Seventh goal is to strengthen the digital state.

-Eighth goal is to strengthen education. We are paying for not investing in technical education

-Enatos, justice and the improvement in the speed of awarding

-Tenth goal is the shielding of the country’s defense, patriots of action.

The first bill of the Ministry of Finance, to be precise, you do not say that it is a global problem, you do not say about the reduction of inflation. We have results that in the countries that temporarily reduced the VAT, the only result is the deprivation of public revenue.

-Collective well-being also gives personal well-being. Our goal is to stand next to every citizen. It’s time for work. We are at the beginning of a new historical arc. The needs are great, the expectations are high. A high rate is not a blank check. The responsibility lies primarily with the government, but part of it lies with the entire political system. we can’t all disagree, always and forever.

-Another direct initiative for universal Hellenism, becomes a bet of consistency for all parties. We are publishing a law with an article that will remove all obstacles to the vote of Greeks abroad, said Mr. Mitsotakis and called on all political forces to vote for it.
