The “declared” confidence of the absolute majority of MPs was secured on Saturday night by the new New Democracy government.

In the roll-call vote on the Program Statements of the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, provided for by the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, for the provision of a vote of confidence to it, and out of 300 voters, they gave a vote of confidence, i.e. they voted “YES”, the 158 MPs of Nea Democracy.

The 142 MPs of the opposition (Radical Left Coalition-Progressive Alliance, PASOK-Change Movement, Communist Party of Greece, Spartans, Hellenic Solution-Kyriakos Velopoulos, Democratic Patriotic Movement “Niki”, and , Freedom Sailing-Zoi Konstantopoulou).

The three-day process of the program statements of the new government in the Parliament was closed with the speech of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Earlier, the political leaders of all the parties again went up to the floor of the Parliament for the deputation while the hall “gasped” with the sudden malaise of the KKE’s general secretary, Dimitris Koutsoubas, during his speech from the floor of the Parliament.
