As he states, “…it goes without saying that I waive my parliamentary immunity that I acquired on July 3, 2023, in relation to the prosecution that has been brought against me in an earlier time for the alleged acts or omissions that have been attributed to me and for which it is the 15th defendant in the trial of the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Athens in which the case for the national tragedy that took place on July 23, 2018 in the region of Eastern Attica, N. Voutza, Mati, Kokkino Limanaki, is heard.
The former regional governor emphasizes in concluding her letter that “In cases where such unique conditions are presented, such as the one we are discussing, as well as the need for justice to be delivered without the risk of statute of limitations, flexibility and respect are needed in the institutional process, in order to overcome obstacles and formalities anchorages that may lead to unfair situations’.
The request to lift the immunity of R. Douro is expected to be discussed tomorrow Tuesday, 18.07 in the Plenary Session of the Parliament which, following the statement of Ms. Dourou, it is estimated that he will vote in favor of removal.
