Nikos Pappas, its candidate for president SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, continues his tours, in view of the party’s leadership selection process. He was recently in Larissa (Friday evening), Alexandroupolis (Saturday morning) and Xanthi (Saturday evening), where he met and talked with members and friends of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance “for the Victory Faction, for the victory of the faction”.

Speaking in Larissa, he launched an attack on the Mitsotakis government, on the occasion of the fires, and spoke of the paralysis of the staff state. As he noted, “we are experiencing the consequences of Mr. Mitsotakis’ policies in a very painful way. It is clear that Mr. Mitsotakis cannot guarantee anything other than consecutive crises. And it is our duty to provide solutions and perspective to the people.”

In Alexandroupoli, after expressing his grief over the recent loss of dozens of people in the area and after speaking of “heartbreaking images in relation to burnt lands and properties”, he pointed out that “the sense of security of the citizens is being shaken. Something has to change radically. It is not just a matter of protecting the environment, it is now a matter of protecting public health. The way we will be called to live, if we do not change things, will be much worse than what we have known until now. I’m sorry to say it, but the Mitsotakis government has shown that it doesn’t want to do anything in this direction.”

In every open discussion with the members and friends of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Nikos Pappas clearly describes his plan for the next day of the party. “We ask for a mandate to build the home of every progressive citizen, to strengthen our identity, which includes the whole world from the left to the center, to create the party of members and not of structures, which suppress our collective decisions. We are asking for a mandate to proceed with our expansion and transformation, to create the left and progressive faction of the country, which will defeat the right of Mr. Mitsotakis and take over the government,” he says characteristically.

In Blonde stressed that “the faction needs a shock of democracy and participation. We invite every man and woman, every progressive, leftist, center-left, centrist, moderate citizen, but also the youth, to come not only to the ballot box on September 10, where there are no conditions for participation except for on-the-spot registration in the party for those who do not they are members, but also in shaping our common path. With this world we coexist. And before this world it is our duty to discuss. Publicly and with camaraderie. For what differentiates us, for what unites us, for what makes us stronger. We must seize every opportunity to increase interest and participation. Only Mr. Mitsotakis can want us fearful and hidden.”
