“The references to the “positive agenda” and the “climate of cooperation”, which were left over in the statements of the two foreign ministers, cannot hide the fact that a wide range of issues that go beyond the delimitation of the EEZ and the continental shelf and touch on issues of sovereign rights and sovereignty of our country” emphasizes the KKE in its comment on the meeting and the statements of the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Turkey G. Gerapetritis and H. Fidan.

“The KKE has long warned about the negative arrangements being prepared under the NATO “umbrella”, at the expense of the two peoples and Greek sovereign rights, based on NATO cohesion in the conditions of – indeed – the ongoing imperialist war and the businesses of the business groups that oversee the wealth of the region. This is also the real content of the so-called “positive agenda”.

The complacency cultivated by the government, with the consent of the other parties of the NATO “arc”, must not pass. These are dangerous plans that also reflect the “big picture” of intensifying international competition and must meet the militant opposition of our people.”
