“The labor dystopia of Mr. Mitsotakis tomorrow in the plenary session of the Parliament. We will defeat her with our political plan“, says the candidate for the presidency of the SYRIZA PS Efi Ahtsioglou in a post on social media, which she accompanies with a video in which she refers to tomorrow’s bill of the Ministry of Labor, contrasting it with “our own political plan that can win” .

Mrs. Ahtsioglou asks the party members to trust her in the September 24 elections, because, as she says, “me and SYRIZA PS can win”.

Specifically, Mrs. Ahtsioglou states:

“Tomorrow the government of Mr. Mitsotakis submits to the plenary session of the Parliament a comprehensive labor bill. The Right’s plan is simple: workers will work without hours, be available 24 hours a day, work 13 hours a day without overtime pay, and be paid marginally to buy the necessities of the day until the next day and they want to convince us that this is how things are and we cannot ask for anything more.

We are here precisely for this reason, to raise a barrier to this plan inside the Parliament but also outside it. But we are also for something else. To advance our own political plan that can win. So I pledge that if I am elected president of SYRIZA – PS within the first twenty days we will submit to the Parliament a comprehensive draft law, to reduce the working time to 35 hours without reducing the salary.

Thus, with a political plan formed through our experience, we will fight the battle. I was Minister of Labor, we achieved victories in a difficult time. The abolition of the minimum wage for young people, the enforcement of rules on the observance of hours and the limitation of arbitrary dismissals, the reinstatement of collective labor agreements and, above all, instilling a sense of safety among workers in the workplace.
