How does Athens evaluate the meeting of the Greek Prime Minister with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Cypriot, Greek-Turkish and climate crisis will be at the center of the speech of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, from the floor of the UN General Assembly, 00:45 Greek time.
After all, during the meeting of the prime minister with the Cypriot president, Nikos Christodoulidis, full coordination was agreed on both sides, confirming Greece’s commitment to the long-standing and permanent positions of non-acceptance of any solution that would provide for two states in Cyprus. A position that the prime minister repeated during his meeting with the Turkish president.
The same climate is reflected in the statement of the government representative, Mr. Marinakis, who stated that “Greece today is stronger than ever defensively, geopolitically, diplomatically and always operates with respect to the rules of international law”.
The positive atmosphere of yesterday’s meeting was conveyed by the Prime Minister himself yesterday who spoke of a “productive discussion with President Erdogan”, while adding that “we agreed to work to deepen the positive atmosphere in Greek-Turkish relations, which has been established in the last months, and we have clearly defined the level of contacts and meetings for the next period, at the level of political dialogue, confidence building measures but also promoting the positive agenda. We also agreed that the next Supreme Cooperation Council will be held on December 7 in Thessaloniki.”
