His new team is formed by Stefanos Kasselakis and it has already been announced that the lawyer Manolis Kapnisakis, who is a very close person to him, will take over as director of his Political Office. Dora Avgeri will be the press representative and Giorgos Tsipras was appointed director of the SYRIZA parliamentary group. Today in the Parliament he will meet Sokratis Famellos and everything indicates that the current head of the parliamentary group will remain in his position, as it is a unifying move, while in the past months everyone agrees that he has performed his duties adequately.

The agenda of the new leader of the official opposition is rich. According to information, he will make the trip he has announced to Cyprus before the municipal elections next week. His priorities include supporting vulnerable groups with disabilities – LGBTI and flood victims with visits to major cities and affected regions.

Among the persons who will assume an important role nearby either in a parliamentary position or with some area of responsibility are Nikos Pappas, Evangelos Apostolakis, Pavlos Polakis, Theodora Tzakri, Rena Dourou, Haris Mamoulakis, Vassilis Kokkalis, Petros Pappas, Athena Linou and others. There is information stating that Mr. Polakis will take over and will be the new coordinator of the parliamentary control committees. Nikos Pappas will either remain a parliamentary representative or take on some area of responsibility and Theodora Tzakri is probably destined to be the secretary of K.O.

From K.O. close to him are also Elena Akrita, Rallia Christidou, Giorgos Karameros, Alexandros Meikopoulos, Rania Thraskia and Andreas Panagiotopoulos. Apart from the parliamentary group in coordination with him are, among others, Dimitris Vettas, Christos Byalas, Anna Vagena, Eleni Avlonitou, Anna Elefanti, Panagiotis Kouroumplis, Yannis Bournos, Natasa Gara, Hara Kafantaris, Markos Hatzisavvas and others.

In the new cycle that starts for Koumoundourou there are three stations for the next period:

The municipal elections

It is currently the “glue” that prohibits hasty movements. Anyone from the “Umbrella” who “moves” a few days before the polls will automatically be accused of undermining the party ahead of a crucial electoral battle.

The Congress

Its realization is expected more than anything else by the executives of the left wing trying to rally their public. Its cancellation will be considered “casus belli”.

European elections

It will be the first major critical test for Stefanos Kasselakis, even if he had argued that the OTA polls are the first stop. The question is the increase of the percentages and the return of SYRIZA to the government orbit in order not to be contested.
