The intention of the government pre-election as well as post-election is to emphasize the improvement of citizens’ everyday life

Realizing that one of the biggest problems of citizens continues to be the accuracy which makes their daily life difficult, the government keeps in the foreground, the seeking additional interventions in the direction of alleviating them beyond the measures that have already been passed or launched.
The declared intention of the government pre-election as well as post-election is to emphasize the improvement of citizens’ everyday life and in this light Kyriakos Mitsotakis at every opportunity and also in the last Council of Ministers noted that the consumption of time in crisis management cannot cancel the implementation of the crucial changes and reforms, on the basis of which the government was elected.
In fact, at the time when inflations, especially in food, continues to remain high and developments in the fuel field threaten a new wave of increases in the supply chain, the Maximos Palace is looking for new “breathers” for households and especially for those citizens who are not beneficiaries of the latest emergency support measures and the permanent income enhancement interventions for 2024, without, however, jeopardizing the country’s fiscal stability.
The “window” of new aid measures was left open by the Prime Minister himself in his interview on Alpha TV, who acknowledged that the biggest problem of the average Greek family at the moment is punctuality, noting that “a trip to the supermarket is enough for to understand that things are difficult”, he noted. Citizen, he pointedly pointed out, “right now sees the elephant in the room, and the elephant in the room is accuracy,” but he pointed out that the development footprint is important in combating accuracy and expressed the belief that “despite the big increases, that we are nearing the beginning of the end of this cycle of high precision. This is also shown by the inflation figures, which are de-escalating, but things are still difficult, I will repeat that”, he underlined.
At the same time, he left the possibility of taking additional support measures is open, although it is obvious that the fiscal margins are suffocating, given the extraordinary conditions resulting from the catastrophic bad weather in Thessaly and other regions of Greece. “I promise to scrape the bottom of the barrel, so that these fellow citizens of ours, who really have no reserves and no other means of support, I can do everything in my power, seeing the development of the Budget to the end next year, to see if we can do something more to help them”, noted Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
