Political leaders are now also entering the fray – ND’s goal is to win both the 13 regions of the country and the three large municipalities
The candidates’ campaigns are peaking as we enter the final stretch for the municipal elections, while the political leaders are now also thrown into the fray.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Kozani and Thessaloniki
The Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis continues his tours in critical regions with the aim of “blue” mobilization. Today, he visited Kozani and Thessaloniki and was at the side of Giorgos Kassapidis in Kozani and Konstantinos Zervas, practically showing his support for the regional governor candidates.
“We gave this political support to the regions not only to give a political dimension to this battle which in fact has such characteristics but to demonstrate the very great importance we attach to the persons and groups of the regional leaderships” said the prime minister.
Then the Prime Minister went to Thessaloniki where he attended the signing ceremony of the contract for the operation of the Metro, stressing that the commitment that the city will have both a Metro and an ancient one was fully respected.
“The maintenance of this project will be guaranteed. I do not say this by chance, as recent events have brought back to our memory sins of the past, where we did not really know who was responsible for the maintenance of important infrastructure projects, which were paid for by Greek taxpayers in the past” underlined Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The goal of ND is to win both the 13 regions of the country and the three large municipalities. The prime minister politically insists on the part of the regions and large municipalities because, as he claims, a good cooperation between the central government and local government is needed to advance major projects and reforms.
Nikos Androulakis in Mytilini
The president of PASOK chose to visit Mytilini, Nikos Androulakis who launched an attack on the prime minister.
“I want every Greek woman and every Greek man to wonder what we have experienced in the three months he has been Prime Minister. All this shows that it is worth saying a big “no” to him on October 8. And to support self-governors who will not serve Maximos and him” stated Mr. Androulakis.
Koutsoubas in Larissa
The general secretary of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas was found today in Larissa.
“With an even stronger KKE, strengthening popular mobilization in regions and municipalities in these elections. The only truly working-class, popular opposition” said Mr. Koutsoubas from Larissa.
