With the president of the Human Rights Union Party in Albania (KEAD), Evangelo Doulethe Minister of Foreign Affairs met in Tirana, George Gerapetritis and announced that “Greece will always be by your side”. Evangelos Dulles briefed the Foreign Minister on the issues of the Greek ethnic minority in Albania. At the same time, Mr. Gerapetritis also raised his issue Fred Beleris.

It is noted that Giorgos Gerapetritis is participating in the Summit of Foreign Ministers of the Berlin Process for the Western Balkans, which is taking place today in Tirana. It is noted that the rotating presidency of the Process is held by Albania.

On the sidelines of the Synod, G. Gerapetritis met with the foreign ministers of Germany Analena Burbok, Austria’s Alexander Sulenberg and North Macedonia’s Bujar Osmani. Mr. Gerapetritis also had meetings with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varelli and the director of the European Department of the European External Action Service Angelina Eichorst.

Upon his arrival in Albania, G. Gerapetritis met with Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and all Albania, Anastasios. “The bridges that unite us, Orthodoxy, which is our common cultural origin, finds in your person the most genuine and important exponent”, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Gerapetritis during his meeting. “The work you have done, initially, your pastoral and then your work in Albania, in the Archdiocese, for the last 32 years, is extremely important, and I think it reflects exactly what we all feel, a work of love, solidarity and supply at all levels”, he noted. Also, Mr. Gerapetritis expressed the trust of the Greek state, but also the absolute support for the work of the archbishop and for him and invited him to continue “with the same zeal, with the same fervor to offer selflessly, so that the Orthodox flock always has his spiritual leader”
