SYRIZA is proceeding with the immediate implementation of the road map for the Congress to be held in February, according to the information from Koumoundourou.

The official opposition party also asks the government to take a clear position on the issue of same-sex marriage, with the occasion, as pointed out, of the wedding of President Stefanos Kasselakis with Tyler Macbeth in New York.

The information from SYRIZA in more detail:

After the approval of the proposal of the president of SYRIZA – PS by the Political Secretariat of the party, the implementation of the road map until the upcoming congress begins immediately.

As suggested by Stefanos Kasselakis and approved by the PG, 13 regional development conferences will be held from November to January, with the aim of the official opposition party talking to local communities and highlighting the serious problems they face. At the same time, specific thematic events will be held on critical issues of concern to citizens, such as punctuality, the welfare state, housing, bad loans, primary production, while particular importance will be given to the rehabilitation of the areas of the country affected by the recent catastrophic floods.

Unity, extroversion, flight forward are the question of the next day. The only opponent is the government and its anti-social policies. The citizens have absolutely nothing to expect from Mr. Mitsotakis and the ND.

In the next period we will be everywhere, next to every citizen, in every social group. SYRIZA-PS will become a party not closed in the four walls, but spread out in society. A living, productive and active organization that will listen and utilize the strength and value of each of its members. We cannot leave the progressive citizens on the sidelines, alone to speak and alone to listen to them, without a social address. Unmediated relationship does not mean transcending party organs, but transcending party barriers and elitism. SYRIZA is here to serve society, not for society to serve the party. All modern tools such as i-syriza will be used in this strategy.

Will the government take a legislative initiative on the marriage of same-sex couples?

At the same time, on the occasion of the civil marriage of the president of SYRIZA – PS in the USA, the government and the prime minister are called to take a clear position: They will bring to a vote the law that will establish civil marriage for same-sex couples as announced by Mr. Mitsotakis or will the sneaking and the obstruction continue? Is the ND a modern European party that follows the path of progress and defends individual rights, or will it remain a hostage to the far-right wing of Messrs. Voridis, Georgiadis and Pleuris? In the end, is Mr. Mitsotakis a reformer and a European, as he claims, or is he expressing himself from the obscurantist views of people like A. Beos?
