“Mr. Marinakis has the thankless role of defending the deeds of this and the previous Mitsotakis administration”, says the representative of SYRIZA-PS, Dora Augeri in her statement, with which she responds to the government representative’s comment about the president’s previous post of SYRIZA.

As Mrs. Augeri continues in her statement: “We understand his position, but we must remind him of the following:

– The growth of the economy in the period 2019-2023 ranked us 18th in the EU.

– Real wages fell by 6.8% for 2022 (Commission spring report).

– Public debt is decreasing as a percentage of GDP mainly due to inflation, as international institutions and analysts point out.

– Private investments mainly concern acquisitions of red and green loans from the funds.

– Accumulated private debt threatens households and businesses.

Mr. Marinaki’s faction has taken on the role of overseer of bankruptcies, foreclosures and auctions.

The Greece of Mr. Mitsotakis is the Greece of the few and elite. It cannot guarantee any upgrades, but successive crises.

Our country needs a big progressive shift, a strong progressive government” concludes the SYRIZA-PS representative in her statement.
