Every afternoon, the packages are delivered to the couriers and transported to the patients’ homes, not only in Attica, but also in many areas of the island country. A similar procedure is followed in other pharmacies ΕΟΠΥΥ throughout the territory, with the aim of delivering the medicines to the patients no later than 48 hours from the time the treatment is approved.
The new drugs offer safety to vulnerable patients who have the first symptoms and are positive for the virus. Medications protect against serious illness and the need for hospitalization.
“It’s one significant new treatment, which can help older people or those with serious health problems who are at risk for serious illness. “Antiviral pills are given in the first days after diagnosis, in order to prevent patients from getting worse,” said Gaga.
Referring to drug disposal process, said it was designed in the most patient-friendly way. “This is the first time that a large number of home care services have been provided to patients who are ill.
